How to Use Advertising Activity Analysis

The main feature of Advertising Activity Analysis is to spot trends over time periods. The chart plots actvitiy levels by time so that you can easily see if things are improving as compared with your efforts being spent.

Statistics Based on Advertising Level

The Activity Analysis is integrated with the activities tree pane on the left side of the screen. As shown in the close up below, the top-level Advertising Methods level is selected, giving you a statistical view of all activities. However, you could easily select a lower level in the activities tree and the activity analysis would automatically change to reflect this.

Statistics Based on Custom Date Selection

All of the analysis is based on the date selection you previously made. The software remembers this from screen to screen, until you change the date range to a different value. You can see the current date selection value by hovering your mouse pointer over the date selection icon:

The active date selection value can be changed simply by clicking on the date selection icon. More details can be found on this in the How to Use Date Selector.

Statistics Based on Custom Layout Selection

The columns of data included in the activity analysis, along with which levels of activity are included in the statistics can be changed by using the Layout Selector. More information can be found on this in How to Use Layout Selector. This layout customization is also remembered from screen to screen until you use it again to change the layout. Simply click on the Layout Selector button to make any changes:

Statistics Chart can be Customized

The kind of data display in the chart can also be changed by the user. In the example above, the software application is presently displaying 3 kinds of data (see legend close up below):

Adding or removing chart lines is accomplished simply by double-clicking the column header in the grid of the data element you want to include or remove (see close up below). If the column data is not presently in the chart then double-clicking on the column header will add it. Likewise, if the column data is already displayed in the chart then double-clicking on the column header will remove it. The analysis chart can be changed however your small business needs require.

Add or removing data to the chart does require the data column to be present. Please refer back to the previouse section on how to add or remove data columns from the grid.

Statistics Data can be Exported

The currently defined data columns in the grid can be printed or exported to Excel for additional analysis. The purpose if this Activity Analysis is simply to provide a quick snapshot of your advertising activities. Many third party applications already provide feature-rich methods of charting or analyzing your data. Simply export your data to one of these applications using the Excel export button:
