The Advertiser Helper software application runs on your own personal desktop or laptop pc. It does not run from a website server. This gives the application a robust user interface along with protecting the privacy of your data.
In order to track your online advertisements, website links need to be placed in your advertisement copy at the time you submit them to classified ad sites, or any other kind of website. These links must point to a website that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is not something that can be done using just a desktop application.
Automating the task of collecting statistics is nearly impossible without using an integrated tracking solution. The Advertiser Helper software has this built in and provides it by working with our website hosting partner. Our hosting partner has a website account, which you sign up for, that collects the visitor page views each time someone clicks on one of your advertisement links. This data is captured into a database on the website server, completely separate from your desktop PC and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Advertiser Helper software provides a function which allows you to periodically download the page view data from your website to the Advertiser Helper software database running on your PC. For more details see: Poll Tracking Server. It does this using the latest PHP5 Extensions, which our hosting partner provides.
The tracking software which is installed on the new website is automatically uploaded to your new website using the Advertiser Helper software. There is an option for this in the Tracking Site Setup tools menu sub-option.
If this automated, statistical data is of interest to you, then please visit our hosting partner first, to sign up for an account with them. There really is no other way to capture this level of information. It does not matter which shared hosting plan you select, or the name of the website domain you choose. Once your website hosting account has been setup, you will receive a Welcome message with your account information. Open this and follow the next few steps to complete the setup:
- Collect the Ftp Information from your Hosting Account Information Email
- Create a MySQL Database using CPanel and Collect your Database Information
- Enter the Website Hosting Information into the Advertiser Helper Software Tracking Setup
